What do YOU collect?

There is something about this house.
Rosebud Cottage.
I was actually previewing it to show to a client, but as soon as I walked through the front door I knew no one would own this house  but me.
In time I'll give you the GRAND's nothing fancy...just warm, cozy and cottage-y....
But for now let's talk about the things that truly make a house a home - the things we fill it with.

I am an avid collector of MANY things, but my very, very, VERY favorite is....drum roll, please.....BOOKS! My favorite room in the house is the library.  Would you look at these shelves? There is absolutely no rhyme or reason about book placement. As we get to know each other you'll find I am NOT the most organized person in the world, so I would love to have someone -preferably a librarian - come in and organize these by category and then alphabetize them!
I not only have books on shelves, but I also have them stacked on the fireplace, coffee table, bedside... I mean....I LOVE books. Recently I've just started collecting Civil War books - from BOTH perspectives. See the Robert E Lee and Ulysses S Grant books there side by side? I'll have you know they get along just fine...not a problem between the two. (ba-da-boom - I'm here every Saturday night, folks!)
A close second are the decorating books, then coffee tables and don't even get me started on decorating magazines...

Did I ever tell y'all about the time I spent 12 whole hours with Carolyne Roehm? No? Okay....that's for another time.
(Her book above is my FAVORITE)

And I guess also for another time are all the other gazillion photos I took of all the things I collect.
THEY ARE ALL LOST! How did that happen?!

I spent ALL day photographing!!

Well....the secrets out.
I am NOT nor will I EVER be one of those 'perfect' bloggers.
(But I'd like to be)

Til next time....

I might also have an addiction to collecting hats.
And furs.
Love pearls...

I was able to retrieve my FAVORITE collectibles from my instagram page!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hats!!!

What do YOU collect?

Cats. I collect cats. We have 12, but not all are house cats. Most live in the barn of our pre-civil war barn in Virginia. Your collection of hats are so pretty and I'm glad you're one of the few that still wear them.

How did I miss this comment?? You have a pre-civil war barn? In VIRGINIA? That sounds wonderful! I too love cats but Lillian and Willow do not. They would not last 2 seconds here. I have a neighborhood cat that sashays back and forth in the front yard and I swear one of these days these dogs are going to go right through the glass.
